Here's my guess: If those Calvin Klein ads were published today, it would have be a massive scandal, far worse than mere banning from network television. There would be boycotts and comparisons made to Jeffrey Epstein. Qanon would add Calvin Klein (and Richard Avedon, who directed the series) to their pedo list. Fox News would lose its shit, but The Atlantic would also write concerning editorials. The backlash would be 100X more extreme than the reaction to Netflix’s "Cuties," which contained no nymphets in sexual poses.

Why? It seems to me that many societal prohibitions on sexuality have been subsided, but protecting teens has escalated in importance. Parenting has also improved dramatically.
